Ezekiel 5 (résumé): Take a sharp sword

In Ezekiel 5 God tells him to shave his head and beard with a sword. He was then to burn one third of the hair, another third was to be chopped by a sword all round the city, and the final third was to be scattered to the wind. However Ezekiel was to bind a few remnant hairs in the folds of his garment and burn a few of these. God then explained that this all meant that one-third of the people will die in the city through famine and disease, one-third would die outside the city by the enemy's sword, and one-third will be scattered and pursued by God's sword. God ends saying that he will shoot his deadly arrows of famine on them and leave them childless, devastated by plague, bloodshed and sword. "Then my anger will cease... and I will be avenged".
