In this chapter the subject of the condemnation of Tyre continues with a lament or funeral song for a beautiful ship which sinks symbolizing Tyre's downfall under God's judgement. "You say, O Tyre, I am perfect in beauty... your deck inlaid with ivory... awnings of blue and purple... all the ships of the sea came alongside to trade your wares... men of Persia, Arvad and Helech brought your beauty to perfection... Tarshish did business with you... and Greece, Tubal, Meshech, Beth Togarmah, Rhodes, Aram. Judah, Israel... your oarsmen take you out to the high seas but the east wind will break you to pieces... everyone on board will sink into the sea... all who handle the oars will abandon their ships... and cry bitterly over you... they will shave their heads... they will take up a lament concerning you... now you are shattered by the sea in the depths and your wares and all your company have gone down with you!"
