Very early on the Sunday morning after the crucifixion women took spices to the tomb but found the stone rolled away and no body! Two men/angels appeared and asked them why they were looking for the living among the dead? "He is not here. He is risen!" The women remembered Jesus' prediction of this. Then the women went and told the disciples but they didn't believe it, and Peter ran to the tomb! Then 2 of the disciples were on their way to Emmaus and Jesus joined them though they didn't recognize him. They discussed all that had happened with Jesus, and when they stopped to eat and Jesus gave thanks the men realized who he was... but then Jesus disappeared... and the disciples commented how their hearts had burned within them listening to Jesus. Then in Jerusalem Jesus appeared to all the disciples and he said; "Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself!" Then Jesus ate fish with the disciples... and "opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures... but he said stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high". Then Jesus "lifted up his hands and blessed them... and he was taken up into heaven... and they worshipped him with great joy".
