Luke 22 (résumé): The Last Supper

With the Passover fast approaching the Jewish leadership sought ways to get rid of Jesus and Judas Iscariot agreed to betray Jesus to them for money and so he looked for an opportunity to do this. Then Jesus and his disciples met in a large upper room to celebrate the Passover. Then Jesus took the cup, gave thanks, and said this was the last time he would drink it until the kingdom of God comes. Then he broke the bread saying "this is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me". Then he said "woe to the man who betrays me. The disciples even argued about who would be the greatest and Jesus said, "the one who rules is the one who serves... Simon I have prayed for you that your faith will not fail... Simon Peter said he would die for the Lord... but Jesus said he would deny him 3 times before the cock crowed... it is written he was numbered with the transgressors, and I tell you that this will be fulfilled in me". Then Jesus went to pray on the Mount of Olives where he prayed a stone's throw from his disciples for the Father to take "this cup from him... but that God's will should be done". Then an angel came and strengthened him but Jesus continued in earnest prayer sweating drops of blood in the process. Then Judas betrayed Jesus and one of the disciples cut off the high priest's servant's right ear, but Jesus healed him. Then Jesus was seized and three times following this Peter denied association with him, but then the cock crowed and he wept bitterly. Meanwhile the soldiers guarding Jesus mocked and beat him, and at daybreak the chief priests and teachers of the law questioned Jesus as to him being the Son of God which Jesus didn't deny.
