Genesis 3 (résumé): The Fall

Poetically personified as a snake, the forces of evil seduced Eve, and then Adam, to disobey God's command not to eat of the forbidden tree in the Garden of Eden. Such a fall into disobedience had catastrophic consequences on humanity and they were banished from the garden.
