After last Sunday's service at Devizes I spoke with a couple from the village of Durrington 2 miles from Stonehenge. This couple are EAB school sponsors and were child sponsors in the early days of EAB child sponsorship. They asked me if I could give them a sort of update on how their sponsored boy is today aged 26. So I traced the boy (now man) to Juru and asked the EAB/ACEV pastor Esequias there to find out how he was. By Tuesday I already had a lovely letter with photos from the ex-sponsored boy and I translated it for the couple. It was great to learn that the ex-sponsored man is doing very well, is very happy with a nice girlfriend, has a job as a personal trainer in a gym, and still has the letters and gifts received as a child from his sponsors of which he sent photos! We thank God for EAB school/child sponsors who really make a difference in poor children's lives.
Please put Saturday, October 25th at 6 pm in your diary when we will be holding EAB's 87th annual AGM, tea (6 pm) and celebration (7 pm). Liz and I will be speaking about other aspects of EAB's work than what we are talking about around the churches. The event will be as usual at the Lighthouse Community Church, Hardley, near Southampton. SO45 3NZ.
The latest edition #104 of the EAB biannual magazine InTouch will be with you by post in the coming weeks, but it is already available on our website at www.eabrazil.org . Our thanks again to Dave Flowers and Marian Rashleigh for their excellent work in producing another edition.
Yesterday Liz enjoyed a lovely day in the centre of London with her sisters Eunice and Esther. I stayed in Harrow with my brother-in-law Jon as somebody has to hold the fort and do the work! 😜
I have started reading book number 9 in the Blitz Detective series by my friend Mike Hollow. This edition, kindly given to me by my sister Jean, is called the Soho Murder.
Excelente testemunho, resultado do Ação Educar. Tudo para a glória de Deus. Pr. Umbirajara
