Annual Drought

At Green Pastures it rained another 30 mm (one and a quarter inches) last night and we can now consider the annual drought over. In Patos I don't know how much it rained but it was more. The rain in Patos stopped the people leaving church at the end of the Sunday night service as the rain was very heavy. The communion service went well apart from us running out of disposable little cups during the distribution! The deaconess Josinete, who usually deals with this, was off sick. We managed to sort out the problem but it wasted a lot of time. Assistant pastor Rafael preached and I led the service.

January is holiday month in northeastern Brazil so please especially pray for our projects team who will be having a good rest this month. Please also pray for the leadership transition at our Soledade church. In the first half of this year we will need a new pastor there to replace Ângelo who resigned at the end of November. In this interim period our two Campina Grande churches (only 50 km away) are caring for the Soledade church and seeking to revitalize it. We value your prayers for this.

Whilst our granddaughter is away in England Liz and I are looking after her Pug dog called Apollo. We are getting on well with him and he seems to like our company.
