Yesterday I saw a large flock of Common Waxbills at Green Pastures. There were hundreds of them. I also saw Cactus Parakeets, many Chalk-browed Mockingbirds and one Great Kiskadee.
Yesterday afternoon I conducted the wedding of Murilo and Karol and everything went off beautifully. I included in the ceremony, as a surprise, a poem about the couple written by a poetess friend, and it went down very well. I also used the game of chess as a metaphor in my talk to the couple as Murilo and his father are keen chess players. I encouraged Murilo to always value and protect "his queen", and encouraged Karol to care for the "pawns" (kids!) equally even if they have 8 as in chess! Sacha and Marina did the vocals for the ceremony and Rogério, Netinho, Rogaciano and Ricardinho provided the backing.
